General Information:

Role Plays Events: You must use the standard paper and pencils that will be available for your use on the table. Do not bring paper, note cards, or pens/pencils. You will not be allowed to use them.

Team Role Play Events: Computers are no longer allowed. Please refer to the role play events section in the DECA Guide for more instruction.

Testing: Cell phones and programmable calculators are not allowed during testing or role plays. At State, Utah DECA will provide calculators. At Region Competitions you should bring your own unprogrammable calculator.

Written Events: Written papers will be due in February 2008. Remember, Utah DECA rules state that only 1-2 people can compete as a team on a written paper. The exception is Chapter Events where you may have 1-3 people on a team.

Performance Indicators:

Will be available before the State Career Development Conference in March 2009.

Sample Role Play Events are available on the Chapter Management CD which was given to all chapter advisors and officers at the Fall Leadership Conference in October 2008.


For Your Information:

Quiz Bowl Rules: Only one advisor from each school is allowed in the room during the competition to observe. Advisors must stand in the back where your students cannot see you. No talking or noise of any kind is allowed, or your team will be disqualified.
