Who: High school DECA or FBLA students, high school students taking business classes, or any high school students interested in studying business are invited.
What: Marketing, sales, advertising, and presentation competition for high school students
When: Friday April 12 2024, 9am -1:30pm
Where: Keller Business Building at UVU
Why: Gain valuable marketing and presentation experience with a real-world case from our competition partners the Utah Jazz and Fezzari Bicycles. Win scholarship money and lots of cool prizes. Test your marketing skills against the top local high school marketing students. Learn about UVU’s marketing and other business majors and about careers in marketing. Have fun with a field day out on UVU campus with a catered lunch provided.

You are invited to join UVU’s Marketing Department and our competition sponsors, Utah Jazz and Fezzari (now Ari) Bicycles, in a celebration of the study of business marketing with a day of fun marketing competitions designed for high school business students.

We are hosting this event in our brand new state-of-the-art Keller Business Building at UVU for all high school DECA or FBLA students, or other high school students interested in studying business.

We have teamed up with our corporate case sponsors and local entertainment leader, Utah Jazz, for this event and will be giving out lots of cool prizes including $11000 in scholarship money, cool swag, prizes, and gift cards.

The competition will run on a Friday from 9am to 1pm and will be totally free for your students. We will provide lunch during the awards ceremony from 1240pm to 130pm. We will be holding this catered lunch on the 4th floor of our new Keller Business building.

Competitions will include:

Marketing strategy case competition
Sales Presentation Competition
Resume competition,
Interview competition
Elevator pitch competition.
T-Shirt artwork design competition
Product Design and Advertising competition.
Social Media Competition
Information booth scavenger hunt.

The only competitions that will require prior team preparation will be the marketing case competition and T Shirt Design Competition, which we will post 2 weeks in advance. The resume and Interview/personal pitch competition will require some individual preparation to customize a resume and elevator pitch to suit our sponsor job description, which we will provide 2 weeks before the event. The rest of the competitions will be presented and completed on the day.

In between competitions, the students will enjoy exploring the Keller Business Building in the form of a Scavenger Hunt, visiting our Smartlab, Greenhouse, Professional Sales Program, MBA Office, Money Success Center, Academic Tutoring, WSB Writing Lab, UVU Application station, Women in Business Center, and also enjoy various games, karaoke, treats, soda bar, froyo, photo wall, etc.

You could bring as many interested students as you wish. We are inviting all the Utah High Schools.

*Scholarship awards will be up to $2000 per team, or $500 per individual.

Students and advisors will be required to organize their own transport to and from the UVU campus. We would require that each high school send at least one advisor, teacher or parent chaperone who will be responsible for the students from your school.

Teachers or advisors will need to register their students and student teams.
