All judges need to be registered one (1) week before the competition.

REGION TIMES

All regions will start at 8:00 am and will be finished by 2:00 pm. Please schedule buses appropriately. We have to start on time, to be sure to end on time.

Opening will start at 8:00 am. We hope that all award sessions will begin at 1:00 pm. Please encourage your administration to come and watch your students receive their awards. Administrators love seeing students win; it helps show them the amazing things happening in DECA.

REGION EVENTS

This year, students will have more opportunities to prepare for the State Competition. Students who compete in Individual Series Events will compete in TWO role plays. The events are paired together with matching event from the cluster. Students who want to do Team Events, will still only be able to do ONE role play. The events that will be offered this year are:

      • Apparel and Accessories AND Retail Merchandising

      • Accounting AND Personal Financial Literacy

      • Business Services AND Sports and Entertainment

      • Entrepreneurship AND Human Resources

      • Food Marketing AND Marketing Communications

      • Principles of Hospitality and Tourism AND Principles of Marketing

      • Quick Serve Restaurant AND Hotel and Lodging 

    Team:

       

        • Entrepreneurship 

        • Hospitality Services

        • Marketing Management

        • Sports and Entertainment

      REGION TESTING

      All region testing will be done online. Students will take the test for their event cluster, or one related. The tests will be as follows:

         

          • Apparel and Accessories AND Retail Merchandising – Marketing Test

          • Accounting AND Personal Financial Literacy – Finance Test

          • Business Services AND Sports and Entertainment – Marketing Test

          • Entrepreneurship AND Human Resources – Entrepreneurship Test

          • Food Marketing AND Marketing Communications – Marketing Test

          • Principles of Hospitality and Tourism AND Principles of Marketing – Business Administration Test

          • Quick Serve Restaurant AND Hotel and Lodging – Hospitality Test

          • Entrepreneurship – Entrepreneurship Test

          • Hospitality Services – Hospitality Test

          • Marketing Management – Marketing Test

          • Sports and Entertainment – Marketing Test

        Central Region Testing will be on November 24, 25 and December 1.

        South Region Testing will be on November 24, 25 and December 1-3.

        All other regions, testing will be open November 24, 25 – December 1-5. 

        Testing will be open from 6:00 am until 6:00 pm each day. Testing will be closed on the weekend.

        Advisors or a teacher in your school who has done the testing ethics training can proctor exams.

        A few things that you need to know for Region:

           

            • Students must be registered as members through National DECA.

            • Cost is $20 per student.

            • Payments is due by the day of your region competition.

            • Advisors are required to provide 1 judge for every 6 students registered. (1-6 students = 1 judge, 7-12 students = 2 judges, etc.)

            • The link for judges will be sent out soon.

            • Judges need to be registered by November 25.
